Akon Don’t Matter

Use this song as your new Don’t Matter Ringtone

Don’t Matter” is the third single from American R&B musician Akon’s sophmore album, Konvicted. It was released on January 18, 2007 in the United States. The song shows Akon’s influence from R. Kelly and Bob Marley. The single debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 on January 25, 2007 at number 79. The music video was released on February 9, 2007. In April 2007, the song became Akon’s second number-one single in the United States. Listeners have often noticed its acute similarity to R Kelly’s “Ignition (Remix)”. The melody is exactly the same except for an A major theme as opposed to an A flat theme which appears on Ignition.

Akon Don’t Matter Lyrics
Oh
Ohoohwooe
Oooh
Ooohhwooe
Nobody wanna see us together
But it don’t matter no
Cause I got you
Nobody wanna see us together
But it don’t matter no
Cause I got you
Cause we gon’ fight
Oh yes we gon’ fight
Believe we gon’ fight
Fight for our right to love yeah
Nobody wanna see us together
But it don’t matter no
Cause I got you
Nobody wants to see us together
Nobody thought we’d last forever
I feel ‘em hopin’ and prayin’
Things between us don’t get better
Men steady comin’ after you
Women steady comin’ after me
Seem like everybody wanna go for self
And don’t wanna respect boundaries
Tellin’ you all those lies
Just to get on your side
But I must admit there was a couple secrets
I held inside
But just know that I tried
To always apologize
And I’ma have you first always in my heart
To keep you satisfied
Nobody wanna see us together
But it don’t matter no
Cause I got you
Nobody wanna see us together
But it don’t matter no
Cause I got you
Cause we gon’ fight
Oh yes we gon’ fight
Believe we gon’ fight
Fight for our right to love yeah
Nobody wanna see us together
But it don’t matter no
Cause I got you
Got every right to wanna leave
Got every right to wanna go
Got every right to hit the road
And never talk to me no more
You don’t even have to call
Even check for me at all
’cause the way I been actin’ lately
Has been off the wall
Especially toward you
Puttin’ girls before you
And they watchin’ everything I been doin’
Just to hurt you
Most of it just ain’t true
And they won’t show you
How much of a queen you are to me
And why I love you baby
Nobody wanna see us together
But it don’t matter no
Cause I got you
Nobody wanna see us together
But it don’t matter no
Cause I got you
Cause we gon’ fight
Oh yes we gon’ fight
Believe we gon’ fight
Fight for our right to love yeah
Nobody wanna see us together
But it don’t matter no
Cause I got you
Oh oh oh oh oh
Ooooh
Cause I got you
Cause I got you
Nobody wanna see us together
But it don’t matter no
Cause I got you
Nobody wanna see us together
But it don’t matter no
Cause I got you
Cause we gon’ fight
Oh yes we gon’ fight
Believe we gon’ fight
Fight for our right to love yeah
Nobody wanna see us together
But it don’t matter no
Cause I got you
Nobody wanna see us together
But it don’t matter no
Cause I got you babe
Nobody wanna see us together
But it don’t matter no
Cause I got you babe
Cause we gon’ fight
Oh yes we gon’ fight
Believe we gon’ fight
Fight for our right to love yeah
Nobody wanna see us together
But it don’t matter no
Cause I got you

Akon Locked Up Ringtone

Use this song as your new Akon Locked Up Ringtone

Locked Up” is the debut single by the Senegalese singer Akon, which appears on his debut album, Trouble. The single was released in 2004 and gave him large successes already, reaching top 10 in both the U.S. and the UK, but he was to enjoy even more success with the follow-up song “Lonely”. The song recounts Akon’s own troubles with the law, only instead of car theft, the protagonist is a drug dealer. In the video, Akon is arrested after being caught getting drugs out of a laundromat by, “undercovers dressed as friends,”. After being in jail, he describes what a bad place prison is, contrary to the idea that prison makes you tough, an idea popularized by rappers. “Visitation no longer comes by, Seems like they forgot about me, Comisarry is gettin empty, Cellmates gettin food without me,” He then goes on to say that he cannot wait to get out, and, “Got a family that loves me and wants me to do right, but instead I’m here Locked up.” He then asks his family and his friends to send him magazines, money-orders, to visit him, asks where his lawyer is, accept his phone calls, and, “Where’s my Niggaz on lockdown?” This song was a breakout hit for Akon in 2004, and began to shape his career and future. A remix of the song (featuring the rapper Styles P) also exists on the single and the album.

Akon Locked Up (Remix) Lyrics
(feat. Styles P)
[Styles P]
Locked up, they won’t let me out,
And I had a long day in court **** stressed me out,
Won’t gimme the bail they can’t get me out,
Now I’m headed to the county,
Gotta do a bid here, I’m used to living luxurous,
I don’t wana live here, the walls is gray the clothes is orange,
The phones is broke, the food is garbage,
A lot a niggas is livin with these circumstances,
Sp’s the same I still murk ya manz’z ,
Drug money to rap money work advances,
Niggas ran and told that I shoulda murked to kansas,
Niga got popped for a murda attempt,
Knocked me on d block when I was burning the hemph,
Had a brick in the stash hope they don’t take to a further extent,
Locked up and they wont let me out,
When I hit my cell block, niggas know the threat be out.
[AKON]
I’m steady tryna find a motive,
Why do what I do.
Freedom aint gettin no closer,
No matter how far I go,
My car is stolen, no registration,
Cops partolin, and now they done stop me,
And I get locked up,
[Chorus]
They won’t let me out, they won’t let me out, (I’m locked up)
They won’t let me out no, they wont let me out, (I’m locked up)
They won’t let me out, they won’t let me out, (I’m locked up)
They won’t let me out no, they won’t let me out
[Akon]
Headin up town to re up,
Back with a couple peeps,
Corner blocks on fire,
Under covers dressed as feens,
Makin so much money,
Products movin’ fast,
Put away the stash,
And as I sold the last bag fucked around and got locked up
[CHORUS]
They won’t let me out, they won’t let me out, (my nigga I’m locked up)
They won’t let me out no, they wont let me out, (I got locked up)
They won’t let me out, they won’t let me out, (baby girl I’m locked up)
They won’t let me out no, they won’t let me out
[Styles P]
Now that I’m locked up I rep two sets so
Ima ride or die and stay d blocked up
Two tooth brushes up,
Whoever wanted with p
When I walk by nigga get up,
’cause I’m locked up they cant get me out,
I smoke a stick of haze when they stress me out,
Go and hit the bar when the reds be out,
Cant wait for the day when they let me out,
[Akon]
’cause visitation no longer comes by,
Seems like they forgot about me,
Commissary is getting empty,
My cell mates getting food without me,
Can’t wait to get out and move forward with my life,
Got a family that loves me and wants me to do right
But instead I get locked up
[CHORUS]
They won’t let me out, they won’t let me out, (I’m locked up)
They won’t let me out no, they wont let me out, (my nigga I’m locked up)
They won’t let me out, they won’t let me out, (I’m locked up)
They won’t let me out no, they won’t let me out (’cause I’m locked up)

If R&B has been drifting lately, Konvicted proves Akon’s ready to take the wheel: His reedy voice encapsulates Jersey, Jamaica, and continents beyond (Africa, most notably); his wait-a-beat delivery enhances his high-flying hooks; and his attitude mulches thuggery and womanizing into something worth spreading around. If that’s not indication enough he’s on a roll, consider the accolades Konvicted is racking up–a Grammy nod for “Smack That” (featuring Eminem), a No. 1 single with “I Wanna Love You” (featuring Snoop Dogg), sales in the millions. To count Akon a musical groundbreaker, though, you have to be ready to embrace a new genre that might take Brian McKnight and Usher fans a little getting used to: hardcore R & B. Both “I Wanna Love You” and “Smack That” don’t shy away from raunch, and tracks like “Tired of Runnin’” and “Shake Down” bring on an MC edge that belongs more to the street than to the bedroom. Still, count on Akon to convince holdouts he’s worth hearing; both his message and his manner bear the marks of the unstoppable. –Tammy La Gorce
