Kanye West Stronger
The music video for “Stronger” was directed by Hype Williams and shot over nine days in Japan. It features shots in Aoyama-based clothing store A Bathing Ape and Harajuku clothing store Billionare Boys Club/Ice Cream. The video took three months to complete. A rough cut first premiered at the Tribeca Studios in New York City on June 19, 2007 by West himself. It made its public premiere on June 26, 2007, on MTV Germany’s TRL. The video was also shown on the BET countdown show 106 & Park on June 28, 2007. On VH1 and MTV, Kanye is credited as “Mr. West” in the “Stronger” video. The video features appearances by singer Cassie and Daft Punk, the latter of whom Kanye West sampled for the song. The video features multiple scenes which pay homage to the 1988 anime film Akira. Both West and Williams had originally planned to integrate scenes from the film. West also wears a rare pair of Jeremy Scott sunglasses, which he “found in Paris after three months of searching”.

Chris Brown - Run It
“Run It!” is the debut single by Chris Brown released in 2005. The song was a hit in the U.S., peaking at number one and remaining there for five weeks. “Run It!” also performed well worldwide, peaking at number one in Australia and New Zealand and number two in the UK. It has been certified Platinum by the RIAA. It features Juelz Santana. The music video portrays a school dance inside a gym, where Brown meets a girl that he suddenly is attracted to and wants to dance with. At the end, the security guards arrive, and the whole gym is evacuated. However, as soon as the guards find nobody there, they start dancing. The video received nominations for Best New Artist and Viewer’s Choice at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards, but did not win either of these.

Snoop Dogg - That’s That from the Lp Tha Blue Carpet Treatment
Tha Blue Carpet Treatment finds Snoop employing his usual impressive lineup of collaborators and strutting his way through a by-now standard litany of libidinous, gang-bangin’ boasts. But when your record is packed with this much veteran savvy and smooth flavor, the pride comes naturally. Snoop has been g-funky as hell for a long while, but “Crazy,” with its hypnotic keyboard loop and silky flow, is impressive even for him. It’s a trickle of light to counter the equally accomplished but darker “Vato,” a fever-dream street duet with Cypress Hill’s B Real. Traces of Doggystyle-era gangsta show up as well; the laconic flow of “Candy (Drippin’ Like Water)” for instance, featuring E-40 and MC Eiht, is as instantly appealing as anything on that seminal debut. It must be said that whatever Snoop Dogg releases at this point in his career competes with his overwhelming celebrity and cartoonish, pimp-maestro image, and that makes it hard to take him seriously. But here, even a too-obvious, potentially disastrous song like “I Wanna F*** You” manages not to be ridiculous. If that’s not the mark of a true star, I don’t know what is. –Matthew Cooke ringtones
