Use Nas as your new RingtoneNas Ringtones“The World Is Yours” is a 1994 single by Nas, from his debut album, Illmatic. The song was produced by Pete Rock (who also sings the song’s chorus), and features a sample of “I Love Music” by Ahmad Jamal and a sample of “It’s Yours” by T La Rock. A remix of the song was produced by Q-Tip featuring similar but new lyrics; both it and the original were released by Columbia Records as singles, and promoted with music videos. The reflective lyric, “I need a new nigga for this black cloud to follow/Cause while it’s over me it’s too dark to see tomorrow” summed up frustration with the unique obstacles of inner city life. Jay-Z, Nas’ one time rival, also sampled a portion of “The World Is Yours” for the chorus of his first single, “Dead Presidents.” At one point “The World is Yours” can be heard in the background to a scene in Antwone Fisher [1]. The song is also featured in the soundtrack to the popular video game, Tony Hawk’s Underground. It can be found on Nas’ greatest hits album, The Best of Nas. ringtone Nas RingtonesPosted January 14 2007 | 0 Comments
Nas - Hip Hop is Dead
Hip Hop Is Dead is the first single off of Nas‘ 2006 album Hip Hop Is Dead. It is produced by and featured founding member of The Black Eyed Peas, will.i.am. It has peaked at #48 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart,[1] as well as #41 on the Billboard Hot 100. The lyrics deal with the death of hip hop as Nas explains in the third verse: “ Everybody sound the same, commercialize the game Reminiscin’ when it wasn’t all business It forgot where it started So we all gather here for the dearly departed ” To start the second verse, Nas says, “the bigger the cap, the bigger the peelin’,” referencing the introduction of “Steady Mobbin’” by Ice Cube. He also references MC Shan and MC Ren as possible candidates for top ten rappers of all time. Other references include “David Stern with his NBA fashion issues.” Nas Ringtones |
